1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to PRISM ("we," "us," or "our"), an AI-powered academic assistant designed to help students organize, analyze, and learn from their coursework. By accessing or using PRISM, you ("Student," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use PRISM.

1.1 Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use PRISM
• If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental/guardian consent
• You must be enrolled in an educational institution or engaged in formal learning
• You may not use PRISM for illegal purposes or to violate academic integrity policies

1.2 Changes to Terms

2.1 What PRISM Does

2.2 What PRISM Is NOT

PRISM is not designed to:

• Complete graded assignments, quizzes, or exams on your behalf
• Generate answers to test questions during active assessments
• Bypass academic integrity policies or honor codes
• Replace your own learning, critical thinking, or original work
• Provide direct answers to homework without your own analysis

3. Academic Integrity Commitment

3.1 Our Position on Cheating

PRISM strongly opposes academic dishonesty. We have built safeguards into our platform to prevent misuse, and we reserve the right to:

• Disable accounts that violate academic integrity policies
• Report suspected academic misconduct to educational institutions if required by law
• Cooperate with investigations into honor code violations
• Terminate service for users who attempt to circumvent integrity protections

3.2 Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use PRISM to:

• Generate answers or complete work during locked assessments (quizzes, tests, exams)
• Submit AI-generated content as your own original work without proper disclosure
• Share graded assignments or test questions with others through PRISM
• Use PRISM during closed-book or proctored examinations
• Circumvent academic integrity detection systems
• Plagiarize content by presenting AI-generated text as your own writing
• Violate your institution's honor code, academic integrity policy, or code of conduct

3.3 Permitted Uses

You MAY use PRISM to:

• Study from your own notes and course materials
• Create study guides for open-book exams (if allowed by your instructor)
• Understand concepts explained in your textbooks or lectures
• Organize and synthesize information from multiple sources
• Draft outlines and organize your thoughts before writing original work
• Review and improve your own writing (with proper disclosure)
• Prepare for exams by creating flashcards and practice questions
• Seek clarification on concepts you don't understand

5. Payment Terms

• Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or annually
• Cancel anytime through account settings
• No refunds for partial months (except in cases of service failure)

We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy of AI-generated content
• Improved grades or test scores
• Availability or uptime
• That use of PRISM will improve your academic performance

You are responsible for verifying accuracy of all PRISM-generated content and meeting your instructor's specific requirements.
